Tibetan Heart Yoga - Series 8 The Partner Practice with Joni Leung
Introduction to partner practice based on the ancient Tibetan practice of Dakshen Nyamje - exchanging self for others.
As HH the Dalai Lama said in Vancouver, "Real change must start from individual.... We need to consider the world as a 'we', part of 'mine', part of 'me'.... then the very basis of conflict…. no longer there. Consider as 'we', part of ‘me.’”
Come practice the asana series with Joni Leung who was trained by Geshe Michael and Lama Christie in San Pancho, Mexico.
Let yourself stretch back to what brought you here, and to have glimpse of the future, your destiny.
What is deceptive and what is the ultimate reality that underlies everything?
Try and catch the great mistake your mind makes about your entire reality.

See the good and celebrate in yourself on this day, with a breath of love. This workshop will have a playful focus on back bends, and is open to practioners of all levels
Using a dense foam rubber strip along your spinal column, this workshop blends breath, therapeutic yoga and hatha yoga. Breathing inquiries invite expansion from the inside as we explore a felt experience of the spinal vertebrae by using the strip in various vertical and horizontal positions on the spinal column. A direct felt experience of your bones promotes a profound release into gravity allowing muscular tension to melt. This workshop includes hatha yoga sequences as well as practical anatomical appreciations and is highly beneficial for those with chronic shoulder and neck discomfort and/or low back tension. In understanding and feeling your own anatomy an inner alignment awakens to guide you on your mat and in your life. This work gets results and supports your heart opening to love with grace.

Flashes of a realization come and go; they don’t stay with us for very long. How can we establish these powerful states of mind so deeply that they inform every single thing we do, waking and sleeping?
The Path of Realizations looks at these questions through the material of the Lam Rim.
We will visit the technical meaning of each of the steps of the path as defined by classical commentaries. Then we will explore how these might feel if we were to experience them in our everyday lives.
Throughout the course, we will lead a series of meditations on how to cultivate each stage of the lam rim, starting from a truthful
assessment of where each of us is right now. We will work primarily from Chone Drakpa Shedrup's commentary on Lama Tsongkapa’s Brief Lam Rim, which has never been translated into English before. We will also
rely heavily on other lam rims, such as Lama Tsongkapa’s "Lam Rim Chenmo" and Pabongka Rinpoche’s "Liberation in Our Hands."

This 10 week progressive course emphasizes anatomical and biomechanical education to instill in students a love and respect for the amazing design of the human body.
A sequential/progressive style class structure provides a greatly accelerated and more fertile learning environment for both the student and instructor. Instead of "Starting from Scratch" as is often the case in the drop-in class model, each session builds and expands on what has been covered in preceding lessons.
Combining classes that focus on either theory or practice, it will provide students with an understanding of 'how' and 'why' yoga postures are meant to work so that our yoga practice is a powerful tool for healing and transforming the human body.
The focus of this conference is to create a supportive meeting place for yoga students and teachers and to grow and expand their practice and vision for the benefit of all. Students of all levels are welcome to participate and be inspired.
Through the avenues of conscious collaboration and the uninhibited sharing of yoga-inspired tools, techniques anyoga teachersd experiences, we can aim to develop a global community of teachers and practitioners who will be the change we want to see in this world. Join us on this journey to the majestic mountains, to the nurture of nature, and the timeless experience of yoga.
SUN, MOON, AND FIRE: AWAKENING THE TRUE POWER OF YOGA!
The ancient tradition of Tantra maps the entire spectrum and sacred journey of Hatha Yoga. In this retreat we explore Tantra’s approach to yoga, one that yields the greatest capacity to attract happiness and success at every level. According to the ancient teachings, there are three essential stages to practice: Moon, Sun, and Fire or mind, energy, and spirit. Furthermore, it’s vital to adjust your practice (including the specific asanas, breath, bandhas, and our overall approach to yoga), depending upon which one of these three dimensions you intend to affect.
The Art of Reasoning: level 2 Buddhist Logic + Perception

Guest teacher and Diamond Mountain University trained debate master Alexander Muir, Ph.D., gained his doctorate for original research integrating Buddhist psychology into modern counselling practice. He is a full time psychology researcher based in Seattle, who studies how to make technology easy to use.

Book launch, public talks and yoga workshops with Lama Christie McNally and Ian Thorson
Lama Christie McNally and Ian Thorson want to get you enlightened. Their new book and North American Summer Tour, Two As One – A Journey to Yoga, reveals how: by helping someone else get enlightened.
After 12 years at the feet of her guru and a three-year isolated meditation retreat, Lama Christie McNally has emerged as one of the world’s first female Lamas.
McNally is a holder of a full and authentic lineage of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, one that has been passed down, unbroken, from teacher to student since the time of the Buddha in 500 B.C., and is a highly-trained master of Yoga philosophy.
Creator of Tibetan Heart Yoga and founder of the Yoga Studies Institute (YSI), she comes to Vancouver with accomplished yogi Ian Thorson August 6 and 7 for a two-day yoga asana and meditation workshop based on the teachings of ancient Indian Buddhist Master Shantideva. (video interview available at: www.twoasoneyoga.com/media)
The workshop will include guided meditations by Lama Christie from her recent book The Tibetan Book of Meditation (www.tibetanbookofmeditation.org), as well as special yoga classes by some of McNally's close students – recent graduates of a seven-year advanced Tibetan Buddhist studies program she co-founded in southeastern Arizona. (The complete workshop schedule is outlined below.)
Adept in both the Sanskrit and Tibetan languages, Lama Christie, teaches from original sources, translating them into English, often for the first time. She is author of a number of popular books including The Tibetan Book of Meditation, How Yoga Works and Karmic Management.
“When you work together in a hands-on, visceral way, you tap into the power of the inner body,” says Lama Christie. “It forms a resonance between the two people that is more powerful than anything the individual by themselves can call up. This is a revolutionary concept on how to travel the spiritual path.”
Through nearly two decades of study, training, and deep meditation, McNally and Thorson have mastered the practice of partner yoga. Their visually stunning new book and yoga series integrates philosophy and yoga techniques from many time-honored disciplines to create a synergistic experience for two yoga partners working together. Two As One is a groundbreaking concept that gives each yoga partner the power to support and be supported, to open and be opened.
To Register:
Registration for all three days: $160 before July 24th. $200 at the door.
Public Talk Fri. $20; Sat. Asana Workshop $40; Lecture/Philosophy $40
Please see website for the full event schedule and prices.

Experiences/ Testimonials
I am truly grateful to have taken part of the wisdom of the yogic tradition conveyed by Maitreyi. Never have I felt such clarity, knowledge and wisdom transmitted with such humility and joy.
I have rediscovered yoga (again), it was a lot like hearing the right vibration, and feeling it in my body. Namaskaram
