Kate Potter

Kate Potter

Kate Potter has passionately devoted herself to Yoga for most of her life, starting at the very young age of ten years old. Today that unwavering commitment and focus have earned her an extensive and growing reputation as an innovative and inspirational Hatha Yoga teacher; indeed, many in the Vancouver Yoga community regard her as a teacherís teacher. Her extensive training includes studies in India with renowned Vedantic scholar Swami Chinmayananda and with the faculty of Yogic Studies at the University of Mysore. She has done Advanced Studies with prominent American teachers Rodney Yee, Richard Miller, Georg Feuerstein, Kali Ray and Mukunda Stiles, and is a certified Yoga teacher and Yoga Therapist. Her current teacher and main influence is Norman Fischer, Zen priest, and founder of the Everyday Zen Foundation. (www.everydayzen.org)

Kate currently maintains a private Yoga Therapy practice in Vancouver B.C., where her clients have included many prominent visitors to the city (Charlize Theron hired Kate as her personal Yoga Teacher for three weeks while she was filming on the West Coast). She offers regular public, private, and corporate Yoga classes throughout the Lower Mainland, as well as periodic Canadian and International Yoga Retreats. Kate has regularly contributed articles on Yoga, anatomy, Ayurveda and ethics to periodicals such as COMMON GROUND and the newsletter of The Yoga Association of B.C. She is in-house Yoga teacher to corporations such as Ballard Power and Business Objects, and the Toronto Dominion Bank has commissioned Kate to give daily Hatha Yoga sessions to 50 of their top executives at their national convention.

Malakai Rouse-Kyle

Malakai is a certified Kriplau Yoga instructor and holds a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation. Malakai believes in creating safe space and cultivating a positive environment in her classes. Malakai teaches a compassionate practice emphasizing non judgement and self acceptance. Classes are formed around a holistic approach into the inquiry of yoga and are accessible to everyone. Through this practice one learns to listen to the body and work towards personal edges.

Each class can be tailored to meet your individual/group needs and begins with a warm up and breath awareness to prepare the body and mind. At the heart of the class is asana (postures ) which work to stretch, strengthen and balance the body in a series of flows and sequences. Each session ends with relaxation and guided meditation. Malakai's unique and playful approach to yoga allows for each individual to tap into their own personal exploration and expression.

Padma Stewart

Padma is one of Canada's best-know meditation and yoga teachers. Padma hosts the nationally-syndicated tv series "Living Yoga with Padma", has produced 2 popular DVDs, and offers workshops and retreats across Canada and internationally. Padma completed an eight-year meditation intensive retreat in the Himalayas and is authorized to teach by the International Meditation Institute of India. Her workshops include Meditation, Sanskrit studies, Yoga Philosophy, Hatha Yoga and Chanting. Padma aims to integrate the purest wisdom of the ancient east with our modern western culture to develop a balanced, happy and fulfilled life.
